This is a historic and maritime county in the North East of Scotland, stretching about 56 miles between Aberdeenshire and the coast of Elgin, it is very narrow in proportion to its length, the coast on the Moray Firth measures about 30 miles, occupied with lofty mountains, finely wooded hills, and picturesque glens.

The region is beautifully with low hills and glens, the highest mountains in this region is Ben Macdhui at 4296 feet and CairnGorm at 4080 feet.

The rivers are the Spey the Fiddich and the Deveron, the county is almost entirely rural.

The Main Towns are Aberchirder, Banff, Buckie, Cullen, Gardenstown, Keith, Macduff, Tomintoul, Whitehills, ranked as one of the real contenders for a truly great biking country with amazing scenery, diverse countryside and miles of stunning roads, the weather is not always great but the ride and your visit will make it well worth it.
