Two Tree Island Hospitality Guide

A nature reserve known as Two Tree Island can be found in the county of Essex in England. It can be found to the east of Leigh-on-Sea and to the south of Southend-on-Sea. The name "Two Tree Island" most likely originates from historical records that mention the existence of two trees of significant size and prominence on the island.

The island is renowned for its extensive variety of habitats, which include mudflats, salt marshes, and grasslands. As a result, it serves as a sanctuary for a wide variety of bird species. Birdwatchers and people who are interested in nature flock to this location in large numbers.

The Essex Wildlife Trust is in charge of maintaining the 259-hectare nature reserve that is located on Two Tree Island, which is located near to the Thames Estuary. This restored salt marsh is an excellent place for birdwatching and walking, as it is located just a stone's throw away from Leigh on Sea and its train station. Perfect for also taking in the ever-changing vistas of the estuary and Hadleigh Castle out in the distance.

The mudflats and salt marshes provide a winter shelter for a wide range of winter wildfowl and waders. Additionally, the mudflats and salt marshes are home to the avocet, which is a recent success story for Southend. In recent years, egg thieves have targeted it, but local groups have assisted in its recovery since then.

There are approximately 6 kilometres of trails to select from, and they are a combination of gravel and grass paths.
