Loch Ness Cruising Trips Holiday Accommodation Guide

Loch Ness Cruising Trips Holiday Accommodation Guide for your next vacation in the Loch Ness area which is a large, deep, freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands extending for approximately 37 kilometres south west of Inverness.

  • Its surface is 16 metres above sea level.

Loch Ness is best known for alleged sightings of the cryptozoological Loch Ness Monster, also known affectionately as "Nessie".

It is connected at the southern end by the River Oich and a section of the Caledonian Canal to Loch Oich.

At the northern end there is the Bona Narrows which opens out into Loch Dochfour, which feeds the River Ness and a further section of canal to Inverness, ultimately leading to the North Sea via the Moray Firth.

It is one of a series of interconnected, murky bodies of water in Scotland, its water visibility is exceptionally low due to a high peat content in the surrounding soil.

It is impossible to recommend this boat cruise highly enough. We went as a large family party in August and had the boat to ourselves, along with Mike, who was energetic and great from the time we were picked up in the minibus to the time we were dropped off, with a smile on his face the entire time. In contrast to other tours that sound too written and rehearsed, his tour was both instructive and spontaneous sounding. My 12-year-old still talks about this trip weeks after it took place since he was part.
Beautiful, clean, and comfy accommodations provided by the nessie hunter. We also noticed Mike cleaning the boat after we disembarked, which gave us confidence that they are doing everything they can to keep covid safe - it also meant he was able to locate some of our stuff that we had accidentally hidden beneath a seat.
Once again, thank you very much; we will surely return when the younger children are mature enough to take in more information.
